The RAF (Royal Air Force) Roundel is an icon recognized the world over. Thousands of RAF Lancaster heavy bomber and Spitfire light fighter aircraft won the Battle of Britain for the Allies of WWII. The RAF roundel marking on each aircraft mitigated ‘friendly fire’ incidents during the air war and became an icon of Allied Forces victory. This medium profile brushed cotton twill cap proudly features a double felt appliqué RAF roundel (the embroidery technique used in the 1940’s) in just the right proportion.
